The 2020 Italian Film Week kicked off in Qingdao Aishang Leting Art Cinema on Nov. 30 in Shinan District in Qingdao, China's Shandong province. The event was co-sponsored by Qingdao Culture and Tourism Bureau, People's Government of Shinan District, and Sino-European Filmmakers Alliance. The event, taking the opportunity of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy, takes film as a bridge to showcase the fruitful achievements of the two countries in culture, economy, art and other fields, promote the exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in culture, film and television, tourism, fashion and other industries, and meet the needs of the public for film and television culture.

Rome and Qingdao have both been selected by UNESCO as "Film Capital of the World". The Italian Film Week can help both sides learn from each other, discuss the new trend, new direction and new path of the interactive development of film industry and cultural tourism industry, and promote the integrated development of film, fashion, culture and tourism industries in Qingdao.
At the beginning of 2020, the outbreak of COVID-19 hit the pause button of cinemas across the country. Since July 20, eight cinemas in Shinan District have resumed work, with the attendance for each movie rising from 30 percent to 50 percent and 75 percent respectively.At this special period, the scheduled holding of the 2020 Italian Film Week has also boosted the confidence in the development of the film market, international exchanges and cooperation, and the integrated development of the cultural and tourism industries.
The film week will be held from Nov. 30 to Dec. 5 in Qingdao. Movie fans, film lovers, and citizens can enjoy the feast of 8 movies in 3 cinemas in Shinan District during the film week, including The Leisure Seeker and Lazzaro Felice.
